Membership Categories and Fees

The Model Aeronautics Council of Ireland consists of its affiliated members and aeromodelling clubs around the country who also affiliated to MACI.
The standard form of membership is club membership where all the members of a club are affiliated annually with the club every March. Associate membership is where a person affiliates to MACI as an individual and not as a member of an affiliated club. This is normally where a person does not live near any club. Both club and associated members have equal rights but affiliated clubs have to right to send delegates to MACI Council meetings.
MACI have an umbrella insurance policy covering both public liability and member to member risks. All affiliated clubs and their members are covered under this policy. Associate members who hold a B achievement certificate are also covered under the policy.
Members who hold alternative insurance such as persons resident outside the Republic of Ireland and are members of the national aeromodelling organisations in their country of residence may join MACI without availing of the insurance cover and pay a reduced subscription.
Membership fees are divided into Senior, Junior, Family or Spouse/partner:
| Senior | a person over the age of 18 at time of affiliating or renewing |
| Junior | a person under the age of 18 at time of affiliating or renewing |
| Family | a person under the age of 18 sharing a common address with a parent who is a senior member of MACI. Family members will not get separate notifications or copies of FlightLines |
| Spouse/Partner | the spouse or partner of a senior member and sharing a common address with a senior member of MACI. Spouse/partner members will not get separate notifications or copies of FlightLines |
Fees for the year ending 31st March 2011:
| Senior | €70.00 |
| Junior | €25.00 |
| Spouse/Partner | €25.00 |
| Family | €15.00 |
| Club Affiliation | €40.00 |
For new members (or members renewing after 3 years lapsed membership) joining after the end of September, the fees for the remaining part of the year are:
| Senior | €25.00 |
| Junior | €10.00 |
| Spouse/Partner | €10.00 |
| Family | €10.00 |
For members (or renewing members after 3 years lapsed membership) joining after the end of December, the full year’s fee shall apply but will cover the period to the end of March of the following year, that is up to 15 months membership.
Fees for membership without insurance:
